On Saturday morning, a fire in an apartment in the Sachsenhausen district of Frankfurt caused property damage in the range of less than six figures.

Shortly after seven on Saturday morning, residents of a residential building on Unter den Eschen Street reported the noise of a smoke detector and dark clouds of smoke emanating from a window. Emergency services managed to locate the fire in a first-floor apartment of a five-story residential building. The door to the apartment was forcibly opened and the firefighters began to put out the fire. At the same time, the fire department’s apartment was searched for people. Fortunately, there was no one in the apartment. The apartment above the fire site was also checked. The smoke from the fire was blown out by means of a fan. The fire was extinguished around 7:45 am. The adjacent Stresemannallee was completely blocked off during the extinction works.

About 30 firefighters from the professional fire brigade, the volunteer fire brigade from Sachsenhausen and the rescue service were employed. Nobody got hurt. According to initial estimates, the property damage suffered is in the lower six-figure range. The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
