KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki said that the Productive Social Assistance Program (Bansos) for micro and ultra micro businesses in the form of working capital grants of Rp 2.4 million per MSME actor, is planned to launch in mid-August.

“So this might be-launching “President, maybe in the middle of August, we hope that all the budget and regulations have been completed,” Teten explained teleconference on Thursday (6/8).

Teten stressed the importance of encouraging MSMEs to rise amid the current economic situation. Where is known at this time business in Indonesia is dominated by SMEs.

“Why MSME? Because the key to national recovery is MSME. In Indonesia, 99% of MSME businesses do so we need collaboration between the central government and the regions to truly restore the MSME economy. At least MSME can reduce poverty and unemployment,” Teten added.

Teten added, the total budget for the productive social assistance is Rp. 28.8 trillion with a target of receiving 12 million MSME players, especially micro and ultra micro businesses, which do not yet have banking access.

Currently it is conducting a data collection process by name by adress, where later the social assistance mechanism will be distributed by transferring directly to the recipient.

Therefore, Teten hopes that there will be assistance from the regional government in registering micro and ultra-micro businesses in the area.

“We really hope that the support from the regional government, one of which is to record traders, hawkers, street vendors who are not registered at BKPM because registered SMEs are legal entities. But we know that there are many of our brothers like coolies in the markets, traders street vendor, the hawk hasn’t been registered yet. Well this is like that we ask for support by being able tocover all, “he said.
