Full closure at night from Thursday to Friday: Due to the expansion of the A3 between the Biebelried and Fürth / Erlangen motorway junctions, the A3 exit in the direction of Frankfurt / Main at the Erlangen-West junction will be closed.

In order to widen the lane of the exit at the junction, the section must remain cordoned off from Thursday (April 15, 2021, from 9:00 p.m.) until Friday (April 16, 2021, until 5:00 a.m.). This is what “A3 Nordbayern GmbH & Co. KG” reports in the press release from April 13th, 2021.

Corresponding signs will inform road users on the A3 motorway in the direction of Frankfurt / Main on Thursday to leave the motorway at the Erlangen-Frauenaurach junction and to follow the U80 diversion.

There is also the alternative option for road users to leave the motorway further west at the Höchststadt-Ost junction.

The closure takes place in the direction of Nuremberg and is necessary because of adjustments to the control technology of the Katzenberg tunnel. Road users in the direction of Nuremberg are directed via the U97 diversion from the Würzburg-Heidingsfeld junction to the Würzburg / Randersacker junction.

In addition, the Würzburg Nord fuel and rest area is closed from Sunday (April 18, 2021) from 10 p.m. to Sunday (April 25, 2021) until around 8 a.m. The reason for this is construction work in the area of ​​the entrance to the facility.
