Fuel is higher than Pertamax, the price is cheaper than Pertalite

Jakarta

The price of fuel oil (BBM) in a number of countries has increased, including Indonesia.

The price of non-subsidized fuel in the country has soared quite sharply. Even for fuel containing RON 95, which is sold by Shell, the price has already penetrated Rp. 20,500. Shell also raised the price of RON 92 (Super) fuel to Rp 18,990 per liter.

Pertamina is the same way. There are several types of Pertamina fuel whose prices have also increased. Pertamax Turbo, for example, was originally sold for Rp. 14,500, now Rp. 16,200 per liter. The price of Dexlite also increased from Rp 12,950 to Rp 15,000 per liter. Not to forget the price of Pertamina Dex also crawled from Rp. 13,700 to Rp. 16,500 per liter.

Even so, Pertamina still maintains the prices of Pertalite, Solar, and Pertamax. Pertalite is sold for Rp. 7,650 per liter, while Pertamax is Rp. 12,500 per liter. In fact, without subsidies, the price of RON 90 fuel equivalent to Pertalite in the market is Rp. 17,200. In this way, the government provides a subsidy of Rp. 9,550 per liter.

Then for Pertamax, if you follow the economic price in the market, it should be sold for Rp. 17,950 per liter. Subsidies for diesel are even greater. Solar is currently sold at a price of IDR 5,150 per liter, even though the economic price is IDR 18,150 per liter.

Different countries have different policies. In Malaysia, the price of RON 97 fuel, which is almost equivalent to Pertamax Turbo, recently dropped by 4 cents to 4.80 ringgit per liter or equivalent to Rp. 16,241 per liter. As for RON 100 fuel, the price is 5.30 ringgit per liter which is equivalent to Rp. 17,933 per liter.

In Indonesia, the subsidized fuel is Pertalite, in Malaysia the subsidized fuel is RON 95. RON 95 is equivalent to Pertamax Plus in the past. Thanks to the subsidy, the price of RON 95 fuel in Malaysia is set at 2.05 ringgit per liter or equivalent to Rp 6,936 per liter.

If you pay attention, the price of RON 95 fuel in Malaysia is cheaper than Pertalite. The price of RON 95 fuel in Malaysia is also cheaper than Singapore. In Singapore, with a similar octane content, the price of fuel has already penetrated Rp. 31,000 per liter. No wonder there are some Singaporeans who take advantage of the cheap fuel prices in Malaysia to fill their car’s gas tank to the brim.
