ROME – The hunt for the bonus “cunning” turns into a thriller amid threats of lawsuits and protection of privacy. With the Quirinale which makes “bitterness and bewilderment” filter through for what is happening. And the harsh comment of the Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese: “They should be ashamed.”
“Names out” is the refrain. There is nothing official: 5 would have requested the subsidy for VAT and self-employed workers, but only 3 would have obtained it (two leaguers and an M5S). The coordinator of Italia Viva Ettore Rosato denies: “We do not know that any parliamentarian belonging to our group has asked for the bonus.”
Then he attacks the INPS: «This way of doing public service by the INPS is barbaric. We formally invite the INPS, which disseminated this information, to deny the news of our involvement to make the names public ». The spotlights remain on the M5S and Lega. Luigi Di Maio is a river in flood, he tweets, declares, and in the evening he makes a direct Facebook: “The names must be made public and they must be resigned.”
The Foreign Minister shares the initiative undertaken by the regent Vito Crimi, who wrote to the parliamentarians urging them to send by tomorrow a declaration authorizing the INPS to communicate to Crimi if they have requested and subsequently used the bonus Covid 600 euro. And he makes an appeal: “We ask all political forces to do the same thing.” Finally, the head of the Farnesina links the “crafty” affair to the cut of parliamentarians: “At this point the referendum will be another sign of sobriety for the institutions, to give meaning to the institutions with respect to such actions”. Interviewed by Tg1, Roberto Fico also returns to the issue: “The parliamentarians who have asked for the bonus will have to publicly apologize, saying we were wrong and saying let’s return this money”.
In the Lega home, embarrassment mounts. The group leader Riccardo Molinari he let it be known that “yesterday we asked all the parliamentarians to say whether they received the bonus or, if they do not know, to check with their accountant” but “so far I have no evidence of Northern League deputies who have taken the bonus”. The names that circulate are Andrea Dara e Elena Murelli. The Northern League Mario lolini denies being one of those who received the 600 euros. And in the evening it filters that the Carroccio would have asked two deputies for clarification. But nothing leaks out on the names, nor on the outcome. The actor, former grillino, also takes off Nicola Acunzo: “I’m sorry you might think it’s me.”
Then the INPS president ends up in the crosshairs, Pasquale Tridico which could be convened in Parliament, as part of a secret hearing in the work committee. At the moment there are no requests for a meeting but Gianfranco Librandi (Iv) he would be willing to do so and in that forum “I will openly ask for his resignation”. A 2013 Anac resolution would also oblige non-economic public bodies to publish “the deeds of granting grants, contributions, subsidies and assignment of economic advantages” to individuals or public and private entities. Therefore, even the INPS.
