Perhaps someone had the doubt immediately: it is not certain that entrusting a show to Marco Travaglio and Selvaggia Lucarelli is synonymous with automatic success. And so, in fact, it was: the bizarre Carta Canta il Quiz debuted in the late evening on Canale Nove with 252,000 spectators (peak of 310,000) and a 2.5% share. A project like this thrives on hype, word of mouth, and so far on Twitter the reviews have been very lukewarm. And to think that behind him he has a very powerful machine, Il Fatto Quotidiano, and Lucarelli has … himself, which is enough and more. Starting with the trailer, a disturbing “best of” of what we would have seen: zero rhythm, cold and plastered weather, Travaglio who even tries to disguise himself as Mike Bongiorno, daring a pirouette and a “cheerfulness” with the same enthusiasm he shows when he speaks by Calenda.

Carta Canta is almost the radical chic (and dusty) version of L’eredità, with the winner who then undergoes a kind of “Guillotine”, with Travaglio to ask and Lucarelli to sentence, more teacher than notary. Summer is the perfect season for experiments, but here we have exaggerated. Proposing a similar format after 11 pm, and after 2 years of bombardment of information 24 hours a day, is the stuff of (soporific) Cura Ludovico. No, we didn’t deserve them.
