From today paid parking in Geuzenveld

As of today, motorists must pay parking fees or have a parking permit to park in Geuzenveld, part of Slotermeer and Eendracht. Until today it was still free.

Paid parking costs 1.40 euros per hour and applies from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. A parking permit for residents costs about 32 euros per year. A maximum of two parking permits are issued per address.

According to the municipality, the change in the parking policy should ensure that the number of parked cars decreases. For a number of years now, many cars have been parked incorrectly because there are no parking spaces left, causing ‘nuisance and unsafe situations’.

Not all residents were happy with the plan. There were thousands of signatures against the proposal. The politicians in the Nieuw-West district committee were also very critical.
