From the tape to your garage, this Mustang Shelby ‘Eleanor’ is looking for an owner

In 2000, the remake of the 1974 film ’60 seconds’ was released, the film tells the story of a clever car thief who is also a motoring fanatic, a role that Nicoles Cage starred in, however, this film had another great protagonist, a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 nicknamed ‘Eleanor’, which goes on sale today.

60 seconds, 2000

‘Eleanor’ so excited the audience that it became one of the most sought-after classic cars by collectors and also one of the most replicated, enough that some garages were licensed to make licensed replicas.

But the muscle car that is now put on sale is not a replica, but one of the copies of the original Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 used during the filming of various scenes on the streets of Los Angeles.

Although many did not approve of the modifications made from the GT500, the changers Steve Stanford and Chip Foose gave it an updated touch with more personality.

The car, which is in optimal condition and has a mileage of 1,609 kilometers, was put up for sale on the site Alain Class Motors -one of the dealerships with the most exotic cars in the world- with a cost of 1,300,000 Dirhams, currency of the United Arab Emirates, which in Mexico are approximately 7.8 million pesos.

Only 11 units of this Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 were built for the film, of which only three cars were functional, one of which is currently on sale, so its high price is totally understandable.

This jewel out of the screens has under the hood with a 5.8-liter V8 engine that can generate 650 hp thanks to its nitrous oxide system, another detail that makes it even more desirable is that, unlike other units, this has Carroll Shelby’s signature on the dash.

This muscle car is looking for a new owner and we are sure you will find it in less than ’60 seconds’.
