After around 90 days, the Astoria Resort Seefeld will reopen on June 10, 2020 – while complying with all the necessary and important measures – and will make a strong, cultural sign of life: Elisabeth Gürtler, host of the Astoria Resort Seefeld, will stage her hotel for four days a group of outstanding artists who will not only read, make music, perform, sing in Seefeld, but above all also take a deep breath and enjoy the diverse range of the hotel and the location.

“Tourism and culture are not having an easy time at the moment, we lack the guests, the artists lack the stage and the audience. I am firmly convinced that things will get better now – if we stick together, are optimistic and courageous and if we have ideas “says Elisabeth Gürtler, who launched the” Uphill with Cultour “project.

Cultour program combines culture and tourism

From June 11th to 14th, more than 20 artists will create a Cultour program – the combination of culture and tourism – and thus continue the tradition of Cultour Salons initiated by Elisabeth Gürtler at the Astoria Resort Seefeld. You travel comfortably by train – supported by Tirol Werbung – in your own wagon. Travel time from Vienna to Seefeld: just over four hours (with only one change in Innsbruck).

“We are pleased about the great initiative by Elisabeth Gürtler, through which the whole town of Seefeld becomes a stage and is animated. Seefeld offers a lot. Quality and individuality are important to us,” says Werner Frießer, Mayor of Seefeld, who, with his team, does everything possible sets to make the days unforgettable.

“With initiatives like this, Tyrol underlines its attractiveness. Our mountain nature provides a strong sounding board for people’s longing motives. In the current times, values ​​like nature, freedom, security and family are at the top,” said Florian Phleps, Managing Director of Tirol Werbung , which enables the train journey from Vienna to Tyrol and describes Elisabeth Gürtler’s initiative as a lighthouse project for the start of Tyrolean summer tourism 2020.

The list of artists who accept the invitation and go on an uphill cult tour is not only long, but above all top-class. All artists stand for individuality and quality. “I am looking forward to getting to know Astoria and Seefeld as part of this very special trip. I plan to bring my cultural salon to the Astoria in autumn and to organize a Cultour Salon with Elisabeth Gürtler,” said tenor Michael Schade, who is the director of the International Baroque days Melk postponed the program planned for Pentecost to 2022.

After arriving by train, Cultour travelers are welcomed into the Astoria Seefeld and can put together their individual wellness program – consisting of exercise, wellness, culinary delights, nature, relaxation. Culture plays an important role, especially on the second day of the trip, when the artists at the bathing lake, on the terrace, on the bathing jetty, in the meadow use the time for small artistic performances. These will be listened to by the “heroes of everyday life”, employees in systemically relevant professions who have done great things in recent weeks.

The third day is all about nature in Seefeld. “Guests can take a deep breath, smell and experience the alpine pastures and nature, hike, discover the Karwendel,” said Werner Frießer, Mayor of Seefeld. “I am pleased with the many spontaneous commitments and supporters of this project. In the past few weeks I have given the future a lot of thought – and have come to the conclusion that not only a good concept, but above all optimism is needed” , says Elisabeth Gürtler.
