From 0 to 100% in 20 minutes

The Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Oppo has the same owner as OnePlus, and it is not unusual that new technology from Oppo mobiles later comes to OnePlus’ latest models.

Thus, we may have something to look forward to here in Norway, where OnePlus has gradually become big on the market.

Oppo has today launched a wired charger with 125W Flash Charge. At the same time, the company is also ready with a 65W wireless charger.

In a tweet containing a video (see below), Oppo demonstrates how fast the new charger can charge a smartphone with a 4,000 mAh battery – and how the temperature develops during charging. Charging from 0 to 100% takes a total of 20 minutes, while Flash Charge will only take five minutes to charge the battery from 0 to 41%!

As many as ten sensors and a fuse ensure that the temperature does not become too high. The charging itself takes place via three parallel charging paths, so that the load on the battery is distributed over several zones.

The new AirVOOC wireless charger will take an hour and a half to charge the same 4,000 mAh battery. Like OnePlus’ wireless 30W Warp Charge 30, Oppo’s new charger is backward compatible with the Qi standard, so that it can also charge mobiles that do not support the new Flash Charge standard.

Oppo has not yet launched a smartphone that supports the new charging technology.
