Friday in the 2nd HBL: Potsdam with fourth win in a row, Konstanz surprises | News

1. VfL Potsdam vs. TV Großwallstadt

At the start on Friday evening, 1. VfL Potsdam received TV Großwallstadt in their home hall and the result was a handball game at its finest. The people of Potsdam showed from the start that they had already overcome their defeat in the DHB cup game against THW Kiel. Both teams gave nothing in this game, but the team headed by coach Bob Hanning finally prevailed against the people of Großwallstadt with 35:30.



TuS N-Lübbecke vs. HC Empor Rostock

The second encounter of the evening was also exciting. While HC Empor Rostock urgently wants to leave the bottom of the table, TuS N-Lübbecke has already secured a place in the upper midfield. The role of favorites was therefore clearly assigned before the game, but the handball players from the Baltic Sea were not impressed by that. After a strong fight and balanced game Lübbecke finally won with 28:24.


SG BBM Bietigheim vs. TSV Bayer Dormagen

It was no less exciting at SG BBM Bietigheim against TSV Bayer Dormagen. After a balanced start to the game, TSV consistently pulled ahead at the end of the first half. But the SGB was not so easily shaken off. While the break was still 12:17, Bietigheimer fought their way back to Dormagen until they equalized. Only in the last few seconds did the Wiesel win the game 28:29.



Eulen Ludwigshafen vs. VfL Eintracht Hagen

The owls in Ludwigshafen were also furious. You could see from minute one that VfL Eintracht Hagen was hungry for points and the game was accordingly hard fought. It was a draw up to the 59th minute, but the Owls clinched the 34:33 victory shortly before the end!


ThSV Eisenach vs. TV 05/07 Hüttenberg

There were two important points at stake for ThSV Eisenach on Friday if they don’t want to lose contact with top-ranked Balingen and keep Potsdam at bay. But TV Hüttenberg also wanted to add two plus points to its account. In a game on equal footing, the two teams separated after a hard fight with 29:29.


Wolves Würzburg vs. HSG Nordhorn-Lingen

HSG Nordhorn-Lingen celebrates their fifth win in a row against Wolves Würzburg! But the handball players from Nordhorn had to fight hard for this. With a 22:24 victory, the HSG got the two points against the wolves. Keeper Björn Buhrmester contributed a sensational 17 saves to his team’s success.



HBW Balingen-Weilstetten vs. TuSEM Essen

The HBW Balingen-Weilstetten remains undefeated and thus strengthens its place at the top of the table! In a very tight game against TuSEM Essen, the Gauls got their next two points in the fight for promotion. The best scorer of the game was Oddur Gretarsson with seven goals.


HSG Constance vs. VfL Lübeck-Schwartau

HSG Konstanz creates the surprise against VfL Lübeck-Schwartau! With the guest from Lübeck, a difficult opponent awaited HSG Konstanz in the last game on Friday evening. But the promoted team from Lake Constance showed his fighting spirit right from the start and didn’t let the Hanseatic team take the lead after 14 minutes. With 31:27, the HSG finally celebrated a deserved home win.
