Petra Kvitová, after a one-year break in her introductory duel at this year’s postponed French Open, dealt with the home team Oceane Dodinová, and after sets 6: 3 and 7: 5 she advanced to the second round. The first set succeeded in the Fulnek native. She kept the high success of her first serve, she got the first gem with a clean game.
Her opponent started to worry about her serve in the sixth game, which reached 40:40, but this time the pressure still stopped. After another clean game, however, Kvitová lost her serve and Kvitová did not admit her surprise.
The second set was more balanced. Although Dodin lost her serve right at the beginning, she immediately took it back. In the third game, the Frenchwoman broke down and then each player kept her hand until the score was 5: 5. Kvitová won two breakballs while serving Dodinová and used the other one. She then maintained her service without any problems and advanced to Roland Garros in the second round, where her opponent will be either the Spaniard Aliona Bolsova or the Italian Jasmine Paolini.
