A sold out Black Forest stadium. This unthinkable scenario was last seen in a 3-1 win against Union Berlin. Before the duel is reissued, the Freiburg professionals have had a very strong home series and could at least break a record from the 1994/95 record season.

For seven home games, SC Freiburg has been undefeated in the home stadium (five wins, two draws) and has always been in a goal mood. The team always scored at least twice – such a series only existed in the record season 1994/95, which ended in third place under coach Volker Finke – the club from Breisgau cannot show a longer series.
In 1995 a certain Christian Streich started his coaching career at the age of 30 in the youth department of the SC. He is now 55 and has been training the Freiburg professionals for the tenth year, who currently scored 31 points as in 2012/13 for the best result after 21 games in his tenure, the 35 goals scored so far were only exceeded 94/95 (43) .
In order to build on this strong balance sheet, Union seems to be just right. The Köpenicker have been without a win for five games (two draws, three defeats) and for two games without their own goals. But last season, the prank team with the physically robust ensemble of coach Urs Fischer had a hard time in the first half of the season. Away in the league (0: 2) and at home in the DFB-Pokal (1: 3), the SC let the capital city buy it off.

But in the second half of the season, a revenge was achieved that has now reached historic proportions. On March 7th, 24,000 people crowded a full Black Forest stadium for the last time and saw a deserved 3-1 victory for the home team, shot through the goals of Roland Sallai, Christian Günter and Robin Koch. Then came the Corona crisis with all the known effects. For Sallai, who was also the player of the game at the time because of his assist on Günter, it will probably only be enough for a joker after a long injury break. But his colleagues will do everything they can to get the next three.
At least two own hits would significantly increase the likelihood of this and ensure that the current team of the record team of 94/95 swears at least one record. Because third place with 20 wins and six draws as well as a total of 66 hits – the prank protégés will no longer achieve this record despite their good form. Unless they win all 13 remaining league games with one exception …
