Many are suffering from the Corona crisis and hope for support. The clubs are also affected and thus culture, sport and various areas of daily life as a whole. The Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau supports many of these institutions as part of its social commitment through donations and sponsorship measures. So it made sense to start an additional support campaign during this difficult time: Under the motto “You for all – we for you”, the Sparkasse offered 100 interested associations financial support totaling 100,000 euros. 300 clubs applied in a short time and in the first phase 70 winners were drawn, each receiving 1,000 euros. The other 230 applications were presented to the public in three Facebook voting rounds and were able to fight for victory by collecting as many “Likes” as possible in a certain period of time. In the end, the 30 winners of the further distributions of 1,000 euros each were determined. The top runners were “Die Sterne Kosovas eV” with 1,023 likes.
CEO Marcel Thimm: “As a regionally oriented and non-profit savings bank, it is very important to us in this particularly difficult time to show solidarity with the many volunteers in the business area. For the Sparkasse, that means helping materially too!
All in all, it was possible to provide urgently needed help and support across the club life, from sport and music to culture and also for charitable institutions. At the same time, the great and diverse volunteer work was once again brought into the public eye through the Facebook campaign.
Everyone is hoping for a return to normal soon. However, many will remember the solidarity experienced in the Corona crisis for a long time.
