AUSWEG’s offer is available online at www.ausweg-freiburg.de. The revised website provides information on the help that addiction counseling offers and is aimed not only at people at risk of addiction but also at relatives. The range of information is rounded off by useful links to further and more detailed content as well as recognized tests.
For almost 30 years, the addiction counseling service of the Evangelische Stadtmission Freiburg eV has been providing addiction assistance for the city of Freiburg and the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district at its location at Lehener Str. 54a in Freiburg. After intensifying the cooperation with the Blue Cross advisory center in Lörrach, the name was extended to Regio-PSB to accentuate regional cooperation.
In 2021, there were a total of 172 care contacts, one or more care contacts, in our addiction support. Of those seeking advice, 53 were women and 119 were men. 124 people had multiple ICU contacts. The total number of counseling sessions was 851. The primary diagnosis in multiple contacts was alcohol dependence for the majority of counseling seekers (51.6%). In 16.1% it was pathological gambling. 22.6% of those seeking advice were relatives. Compared to previous years, other main diagnoses such as problematic media consumption or cannabis addiction are also on the rise. The offer:
In individual, couple and group discussions, employees of the AUSWEG addiction counseling center provide detailed and personal information about help with addiction, counseling and long-term support and care. In addition to the offer for alcoholics, AUSWEG has developed recognized expertise within the Freiburg addiction help network, especially in the field of gambling addiction. AUSWEG regularly participates in the national day against gambling addiction with awareness campaigns on the dangers of gambling, especially the online variant.
In addition, further offers of help are also broadcast. Even after a phase of treatment there is an offer of aftercare, in particular with the self-help groups affiliated with the Blue Cross and the self-help group for gambling. Last but not least, prevention events are part of AUSWEG’s offer.
