Epic Games vs Apple. Who will win this war? For Fortnite players, the answer is quickly answered and for good reason, the angle of attack chosen by Epic Games is clever. The publisher explains having contested the monopoly of the App Store which takes 30% on each in-game transaction. As a result, Apple has removed Fortnite from its store and all iOS users will no longer be able to access the new content.

In an English press release (source), Epic Games explains that Apple has blocked Fortnite from the App Store, preventing all iOS users from installing or updating the game.
The defense of Epic Games is simple: Apple takes 30% of the revenue from each application on iOS which is no longer acceptable. Moreover, the publisher has already taken legal measures to attack the firm (link to download PDF). Because of Apple therefore, iOS players will not be able to access Fortnite season 4.
Some loose info:
- an iOS player will not be able to get the latest Fortnite updates and will continue to play on patch 13.40.
- money put in Fortnite on iOS cannot be refunded, as Epic Games explains that you have to do with Apple support at this address.
- Epic Games does not want to increase its prices by 30% so that Apple recovers them and on the contrary prefers to make sales of -20% on prices, bypassing Apple (and thus making a small margin of 10%).
