McDonald’s customers have had a blast this weekend. For several hours it was possible to order menus for free. The reason ? A computer bug in the online ordering application “Click & Collect”. McDonald’s said on Monday that the incident was “now fixed“.

Saturday, February 8, several customers were able to place orders without having to pay the bill. Many Internet users then shared their tip on social networks: it was a question of first choosing the Golden menu and then a certain combination of products. It was then possible to order menus endlessly, without paying a single euro. Several Internet users then shared their receipts, their shopping carts or even their car trunks filled with McDonald’s bags.

This Monday, McDonald’s France posted a message on its website, stating that “Delivery & Click & Collect services»Met«some disturbances“. And to add: “nWe are in the process of solving this problem. Please excuse us for any inconvenience“. At the end of the day, the fast food indicated to the Figaro that the incident was resolved. “Our teams have identified a technical incident on the application. This incident, which has been able to delight our consumers for a few hours, is now corrected. The situation is in the normalization phaseAdded McDonald’s.

The message was still visible on the site and on the mobile app, Monday evening. Asked about the origin of the fault, the brand refused to communicate. This is not the first time that McDonald’s has suffered a computer bug. The Vice site revealed indeed on February 4, that German hackers had discovered a flaw in the German McDonald’s system, allowing them to order food for free. According to Vice, the bug, reported to Mcdonald’s, was finally fixed in mid-December. The brand did not want to specify if the bug this weekend was related.
