The government provides free and paid Covid-19 vaccines. For the injection of the Covid-19 vaccine, it is targeted for December 2020.
However, before the Covid-19 vaccine is injected, there are still stages to go through. One of them is the stage of the release emergency use authorization or EUA from the POM.
The POM stated that the Covid-19 Sinovac vaccine as long as it has good quality. Currently, the Covid-19 Sinovac vaccine is still conducting phase III clinical trials.

1. Covid-19 Vaccine Available December
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) still hope that the Covid-19 vaccine will arrive in Indonesia by the end of November. His party is still trying to keep the vaccine coming according to the planned time.
“But if that doesn’t mean it will go to December. Either in the form of a finished vaccine or in the form of raw materials which will be processed at Bio Farma,” he said during a press statement at the Tanah Sereal Community Health Center, Wednesday (18/2020).
2. Vaccination Stages
Jokowi also explained that after the vaccine arrived in Indonesia, it was not immediately injected into the public. He said there were still stages to go through. One of them is the stages of the issuance of the EUA from the POM.
“So that this stage takes time. Maybe around three weeks. After getting permission from BPOM, we will do the vaccination,” he said.
“Rules scientificI have also said that these scientific principles must be followed. We want safety, the security of society must really be given the highest place, “he said.
3. Distribution of the Covid-19 Vaccine
Jokowi said that if you look at the simulation at the Tanah Sereal Puskesmas, vaccination will start at the end of 2020 or early 2021. This is because it requires a long preparation and process.
“We also have to prepare distribution throughout the country. This is not easy. Distributing vaccines is not easy. This is not something like other goods. It requires a cold chain, a certain degree of cold. Every vaccine from a different product also requires a different distribution model. This is what we continue to prepare so that later regions will also receive vaccines immediately and the vaccines will not be damaged, “he concluded.
4. Free and Paid Covid-19 Vaccines
President Joko Widodo said that Covid-19 vaccination is divided into two segments, namely the program and independent. The vaccination program is free from the government, while the community is paid for it independently.
Jokowi said that currently the government continues to intensify the notification of Covid-19 vaccination. Delivery of this information will be done as much as possible.
“Whether later those who take part in the vaccine program or independent vaccination. So there are those who do not pay for free, vaccination programs. Some pay, namely independent vaccination. These two things go hand in hand,” said Jokowi while reviewing the vaccination simulation at the Tanah Sareal Health Center, Bogor, Java. West, Wednesday (18/11/2020).
5. The Priority Groups for Covid-19 Vaccine Recipients
Jokowi said that the groups that were vaccinated first included health workers, be it doctors or nurses or paramedics, then the TNI-Polri, then the state civil servants (ASN) who provide public services and teachers.
“If someone asks the President in front or behind? If the team asks me to be in front, I am ready,” he said.
6. Vaccines in the WHO List
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that Indonesia would buy the corona virus vaccine recommended by WHO. The Head of State does not even question what brand of vaccine is.
“As long as it’s on the WHO list. That’s what we will buy,” he said.
He also did not answer whether to buy two vaccines that are claimed to have a high level of effectiveness, namely Pfizer’s axin and Moderna’s vaccine.
“I said that we will buy the vaccine from a company that is on the WHO list. I am not talking about the brand,” he said.
7. Quality of Sinovac Covid-19 Vaccine
The Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) ensures that the quality of the Covid-19 vaccine made by Sinovac Ltd from China is of good quality. This was confirmed when a team from BPOM directly observed the vaccine manufacturer in the Bamboo Curtain country for a month.

8. Covid-19 Vaccine Injection
The Covid-19 vaccination made by Sinovac from China in Indonesia is planned to run in the third and fourth weeks of January 2021. The program can only start when the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) obtains permission from the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding EUA)
“So the hope is that in the third and fourth week we will get EUA, if even then the data obtained is complete,” said the Head of BPOM Penny Lukito in an online press conference, Thursday (19/11/2020).
He explained that the vaccination was delayed because of the incomplete requirements for obtaining permission from WHO regarding the EUA.
