Thirty-three years after Freddie mercury’s death, a new biography claims the Queen frontman fathered a daughter, kept secret for 48 years. The book, “Love, Freddie” (“With Love, Freddie”), alleges Mercury conceived the child in 1976 during an affair with the wife of a close friend.

According to the biography,the woman,a Catholic,chose not to have an abortion. Onyl a select few knew of the child’s existence: her parents, Mercury’s sister, his bandmates, and Mary Austin, his longtime companion.

A Life Lived in Secret

The alleged daughter, now 48, resides in Europe, working in medicine and raising her own family. She shared her story with Leslie-an Jones, the author of “Love, Freddie.”

She lived with her mother and with her step -father at their home, where, according to an unusual arrangement, a Mercury room was separated. The rock star spoke with her daughter daily on the phone while on tour, sending her letters and gifts, and sought to attend her life in a way that seems surprisingly intimate and gentle.

Mary Austin, ofen described as the only woman Freddie Mercury truly loved, lived with him for several years. He bequeathed her a importent portion of his wealth and his London home.

The book includes a note from the woman identified only as “B,” the alleged daughter. An excerpt published in the Daily Mail reveals her outlook:

Mercury’s Personal Diaries

Before his death in 1991, Mercury reportedly gave his daughter 17 volumes of his personal diaries. These diaries, kept secret for years, were eventually handed over to jones, forming the basis of her biography.

Mercury began writing his diaries on June 20, 1976, shortly after learning about the pregnancy, two days after Queen released You’re My best Friend. The diaries detail his childhood in Zanzibar, where he was born Farrokh Bulsara on September 5, 1946, to a parsi-Indian family. He attended a British-style school in India.

The logs also describe the family’s escape from Zanzibar during the 1964 revolution and their subsequent settlement in Middlesex, northwest London.The last entry was on july 31, 1991, as his health deteriorated. Mercury died on November 24, 1991, at age 45, from AIDS-related complications.

A Daughter’s Revelation

in another letter included in the book, his daughter explains her reasons for sharing Mercury’s diaries three decades after his death:

after more than three decades of lies, speculation and distortions, it is time to give Freddie the word. Those who knew about my existence have kept his greatest secret of loyalty to him. The fact that I choose to reveal now is my decision. Record his personal thoughts,memories and feelings about everything he had experienced.

Jones stated that “B” frist contacted her three years ago. My instinct was to doubt everything, but I’m absolutely sure she’s not a fantasy. No one could fake all this.Why would she work with me for three and a half years without ever asking for anything? jones told the Daily Mail.

“B” also noted that a DNA test confirmed her relationship with Freddie: For those who want to see the evidence from the DNA test, be sure that the necessary check has been received, legal services are engaged, but such measures are private, not public.

As of now, neither Freddie Mercury’s family, close friends like Mary Austin, nor any of the Queen members have commented on the claims made in the biography. Some speculate it might very well be another false sensation surrounding the iconic rock figure.
