Frauenfelderin wins silver at the New York Marathon

The city run organizer Nicole Lohri showed a brilliant sporting performance at the famous US run. Without the calf cramps, even more would have been possible.

(red) What an achievement at the famous New York Marathon! Nicole Lohri from Frauenfeld, active for the athletics club and running club Frauenfeld and Co-OK President of the Frauenfeld City Run, took second place on Sunday in the “Women 45-49” category. The 46-year-old was only around two minutes behind the category leader and 15 seconds ahead of the third-placed runner. Lohri’s time at the finish was stopped at three hours, three minutes and six seconds. With more than 22,000 female runners, she came in very good 110th place.

For once without digestive problems

Lohri competed for the third time in New York. Although she had only contested the three-country marathon in Lindau / Bregenz a month ago, she now ran a time 20 seconds faster overseas. A remarkable achievement, especially since the track in New York is much more difficult to run. Even if Lohri had no digestive problems for once, there would have been more. At 30 km she was only twelve seconds behind the category winner. From kilometer 32, however, she struggled with cramps in her left calf.
