“It was a tough two weeks with a lot of tension and a lot of questions. Fortunately, Mariska is doing very well. We are grateful that the treatments are working well and that a lot of progress has already been made,” writes Frans Bauer on Instagram. He also places a photo of the sea of flowers in his living room. “Thank you all for the flowers, the cards, the fruit baskets and all the sweet messages.”

At the beginning of January, Mariska was hospitalized after she suffered a stroke. “Unfortunately, the year has not started well for us as a family. Mariska was hit by a cerebral infarction this week and we are very shocked,” Frans wrote on Instagram at the time with a photo of him and his wife.

Frans and Mariska married in 2008 and had four sons together, Christiaan, Frans Jr., Jan and Lucas. Together, the couple made several programs, including ‘De Bauers: Destination Unknown’, which can be seen with us on Play5.
