In the process of suspected corruption and voted out by Frankfurt mayor Peter Feldmann (SPD), a former employee welfare executive (Awo) is invited back. In the process of suspected corruption and voted out by Frankfurt mayor Peter Feldmann (SPD), a former employee welfare executive (Awo) is invited back. Hannelore Richter was a special representative of the management of the Frankfurt Awo and is said to have asked Feldmann several times by SMS to support her association. Richter was summoned for the second time this Wednesday and the defense wanted to question her (the hearing began at 9:30).

During his first court appearance, Richter admitted sending the SMS, but stated that Feldmann was not for sale. He didn’t give the “Awo the black under his fingernails,” the judge said in the district court. “I didn’t buy it and it couldn’t be bought.”

The prosecutor accuses Feldmann of accepting donations and other benefits from Awo. In return, he wanted to look kindly on the interests of the social association. Feldmann has so far denied the allegations. The 64-year-old was voted out in a referendum on November 6.

The case against Feldmann is linked to the Awo scandal with fraud charges involving millions of euros against former executives of the association in Frankfurt and Wiesbaden. Various investigations are underway against Hannelore Richter, also for the granting of advantages. She was charged with suspected fraud worth millions. Her attorney has denied the allegations.
