Ribery admitted that he was disappointed with Fiorentina’s decision and emphasized that he was still ready to compete at the highest level. He is now considering Salerno.
Italian Serie A promotion club Salernitana are ready to host winger French veteran Franck Ribery.
Ribery is now 38 years old and is without a club after being released by Fiorentina at the end of last season.
The player is clearly past his prime after winning the Champions League with Bayern eight years ago. But, he still scored five goals and nine assist in 50 Serie A games for Fiorentina – created 70 chances and completed 117 dribbles.

Salernitana’s sporting director, Angelo Fabiani, is optimistic that his side can convince Ribery to join and become a arrival like the late Maradona’s triumph at Napoli in 1984.
It’s true that we have an interest in this player [Ribery],” said Fabiani to Radio Kiss Kiss, Friday (3/9).
“We have an idea. To find a deal, it took days, continuous talks. It’s not even an economic issue, it’s a feasibility issue.”
“Salernitana may be interested, but we are still waiting for an agreement from the player.”
