The incumbent Health Seremi of the Valparaíso region, Francisco Álvarez, returned to his duties after having been admitted to the ICU because of the covid 19.

The authority entered the Ciudad Viña del Mar Clinic on May 25 as a result of a respiratory condition associated with chronic asthma disease. That day, the seremi also underwent a PCR test, which returned positive on Tuesday the 26th of the same month.

The regional mayor, Jorge Martínez, welcomed the seremi after his recovery. The highest authority in the area said that Álvarez had very difficult moments of health.

Meanwhile, Jaime Jamett, who took over as semi-surrogate, will continue to form the advisory team to combat the coronavirus in the region.

Among the strategies that are present to deal with covid 19, the seremi de Salud said that number of laboratories will continue to increase in primary care and that territorial delegates will also be appointed to continue with the testing, traceability and isolation strategy.
