France has decided to close its borders again to countries other than European Union member states to prevent the spread of Corona 19.

Prime Minister Jean Castex held an emergency press conference late in the afternoon of yesterday (29th) local time and announced that it will be implemented from midnight tomorrow, saying, “This is an opportunity to avoid the blockade.”

Prime Minister Castex said “entry to France and departure to countries other than the European Union is prohibited unless there are urgent reasons.”

When entering France from a member of the European Union, the Corona 19 gene amplification test is mandatory, said Prime Minister Castex.

Prior to Prime Minister Castex’s announcement, President Emmanuel Macron convened a meeting of related ministers at Elysee Palace.

The cumulative number of corona 19 cases in France is 3,53487, the sixth largest in the world, and the number of deaths is 75,620, ranking 7th in the world.
