Framework contract for nuclear waste treatment facilities in Dessel and Mol

A framework contract has been concluded between the radioactive waste management organization (Ondraf) and the “Sweco Belgium – Jacobs – Orano Projets – Arteum Architects” consortium relating to new waste treatment and storage facilities and a station treatment plant in Dessel and Mol, the engineering office Sweco said on Monday.

“The consortium will be responsible for the feasibility studies, all phases of the design as well as the supervision of the project and the construction and the corresponding support on several large projects to build these new facilities. The value of the framework contract is estimated by Ondraf at 31.7 million euros for all participants. “

Sweco and Arteum Architects are already in charge of several missions for Ondraf, such as the surveillance and supervision of the Dessel site during the execution of the surface disposal of category A radioactive waste.

Jacobs brings his “experience in decommissioning and waste management from leading nuclear sites in the United States, France and the United Kingdom”.

Orano Projets is a company specializing in the design, engineering and construction of complex projects and in supporting the operation of leading nuclear sites in France, the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom.
