FPI Doesn’t Care About 14 Day Quarantine Rules for Rizieq Shihab

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

General Secretary of the Islamic Defenders Front (REIT), Munarman does not care about the regulations of the Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) which requires Rizieq Shihab undergoing independent isolation and proving negative for Covid-19 through a swab test after arriving in Indonesia.

According to Munarman, his side did not need to respond to the issue of self-quarantine provisions.

“We don’t need to respond to unnecessary things like that (self-quarantine provisions),” said Munarman when confirmed. CNNIndonesia.com via short message, Friday (6/11).

A number of figures known to have close relations with Rizieq also refused to respond to the Ministry of Health’s statement requiring Rizieq to undergo independent isolation and to undergo tests when he arrived in Indonesia.

One of them, Deputy Secretary General PA 212 Novel Bamukmin. He asked that this matter be asked of Munarman as Rizieq’s spokesperson.

“For HRS [Habib Rizieq Shihab] go directly to the spokesperson, Munarman, “he said.

Previously, Rizieq confirmed that he would return to Indonesia on November 10, 2020. He said he would fly from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Soekarno Hatta Airport on Monday or November 9, 2020.

However, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD said that Rizieq’s return this time was to avoid being deported by Saudi Arabia for immigration violations.

He said Rizieq wanted to return home with dignity and did not want to be deported. He also took care of all the requirements for his return after being declared an overstay or excess for approximately two and a half years.

“He will be deported for committing immigration violations. Now, now he is returning to Indonesia, but he doesn’t want to be deported. He wants to return home with honor,” said Mahfud.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Agus Maftuh Abegebriel said Rizieq returned to Indonesia after being put on the deportation list of the local immigration authority. He also advised Rizieq to be somewhat embarrassed by the status in the Saudi immigration computer system.

Rizieq has denied being involved in the issue of an expired or overstayed residence permit in Saudi Arabia. He claims that so far Indonesian officials do not understand the rules regarding overstay in the Holy Land.
