Their return to France was possible because they were outside the city when the quarantine was decided. They decided on Monday to go sightseeing in a neighboring province. Before leaving China, the four students had to undergo three medical checks to ensure there were no symptoms of the virus.

“We don’t really want to go back to China”

“For fifteen days, the incubation period, their temperature will be taken daily. And we are going to ask them not to come to university during this period, “explains François-Olivier Seys, vice-president in charge of international relations at the University of Lille, to the regional daily.

The young girls are students in the fifth year of pharmacy in Lille. Their return to France was normally scheduled for next week. “We didn’t really want to go back to China, it really worried us,” said one of them on Saturday, at BFMTV.

The planned departure of six other Chinese students from Lille University for Wuhan next week has been postponed.
