Four people died in a truck and van crash in the Pardubice region – ČT24 – Česká televize

The driver of the van went in the opposite direction for unknown reasons. Firefighters rescued people from cars for several hours. The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m.

“Despite all efforts, today’s accident failed to restore basic life functions in four people. Two patients went in serious condition to the University Hospital in Hradec Králové, “said a spokesman Malý on Friday. There were two medical crews on site. The helicopter did not get there due to the weather.

One of the injured is still in a very serious condition in the operating room. “The second is stable with minor injuries, he is out of danger of life,” described the spokesman of the university hospital Zdeněk Tušl.

Regional police spokeswoman Lenka Vilímková specified that a van traveling from Holice to Chvojenec collided with a truck in the opposite direction. “The 35-year-old truck driver was not injured, his alcohol test and the presence of narcotics and psychotropic substances were negative,” said Vilímková.

According to the operational officer of the regional police, the road was completely closed, instead of the accident, the drivers had to go around Holice and Chvojenec. Traffic on the road from Holice to Hradec Králové was resumed after 21:00. This road from Vysoké Mýto to Hradec Králové has been congested for a long time, accidents happen here often, most recently on Wednesdays.

The current case is probably an accident this year with the highest number of deaths to date. According to data from police statistics, there were also five accidents with three dead this year. The last such date so far dates back to September 23, when three people, including one child, did not survive the mass accident of two trucks and four passenger cars on the D1 motorway near Brno.
