The fourth shot of the Covid-19 vaccine raises antibody levels to even higher levels than the third shot, but not enough to prevent infection, according to a preliminary study in Israel. Omicron.
Israel’s Sheba Medical Center conducted the second booster in a trial among its staff and is investigating the effect of a Pfizer booster in 154 people two weeks after the main vaccine and a Moderna booster in 120 people one week later. This was told by Gili Regev-Yohai, head of the center “Infectious Department”, reports The Guardian.
They were compared with a control group that did not receive the fourth vaccination. The hospital said those in the Moderna group had previously received three shots of the Pfizer vaccine.

“However, this is probably not enough for Omicron,” he told reporters. “We know by now that the level of antibodies needed to protect against Omicron infection is probably too high for a vaccine, even if it’s a good vaccine,” he said.
