Forward planning center with four fields

STEYR. Those responsible for the forward have long been working on improving the infrastructure of the second division club. The plans for a youth and training center are well advanced.

“The combat team uses the changing rooms in the stadium to drive 4.5 kilometers to the training ground in Gleink in minibuses. Long-term training on the field in Volksstraße is unreasonable for the lawn. The juniors, on the other hand, train, as do the young teams in Münichholz. As a result, there are relatively few points of contact with the combat team in everyday life, ”the club explains the current situation on its club homepage on Monday.

Space for all teams

Together, they now want to create something that is unique and has not succeeded in the past 101 years. Because the time for regional, political, promising projects is now ideal. “The key to future positive development is a training and youth center. A center that with three turf and one artificial turf pitch offers optimal training conditions for all teams of the SK Vorwärts Steyr. Furthermore, with offices and changing rooms, it should also create the opportunity to organize international youth tournaments and training camps, ”says the association’s statement.

Good conversations

The crux of the infrastructure project is financing. The first talks with the city of Steyr, the state politicians as well as entrepreneurs and sponsors have already taken place and have been well received. “In this context, it should also be mentioned that the plans for a training and youth center will not change our stadium on Volksstraße,” emphasizes the SK Vorwärts.

Gleink as a possible location

The exact location of the training and young talent center has not yet been finalized. A possible location could be in Gleink, near the current training place. A first rough estimate of the costs is available. “The top premise remains conservative, economic action,” said the club’s managers.
