Fortuner GR Sport in Thailand is more ‘ferocious’ than the RI version

Toyota Fortuner GR Sport launched in Thailand on Friday (27/8). Different from the same variant in Indonesia which launched on August 9, this Thai version has more ‘ferocious’ specifications.

First, the Fortuner GR Sport in Thailand has a red hero color that is more eye-catching than the color variations in Indonesia. The Thai version also has a different bumper shape, then the grille is split in half, and overall is more inspired by the GR Yaris.

Then a different design is also seen in the headlights, the application of glossy black trim, and the position of the speed lights.

Another difference is the Fortuner GR Sport in Thailand, there is a choice of a 2,800 cc diesel engine with 202 hp and 500 Nm of torque. While in Indonesia it is available in petrol engine options of 2,700 cc 163 hp and 247 Nm and diesel 2,400 cc 149 hp and 400 Nm of torque.

Another differentiation is that the Thai version of the Fortuner GR Sport is available for the 4WD variant, while domestically it is only for rear-wheel drive.

The cabin of this car is filled with all-black shades, there are red stitching on the upholstery which makes it contrast but in harmony with the exterior color. Other details have the GR logo on headrest, besides that there is also the start / stop button, steering wheel, instrument cluster, remote lock, brake calipers and rear door.

The Fortuner GR Sport in Thailand is available in three color options, Emotional Red, White Pearl CS, and Attitude Black Mica. The first two color choices have a black roof.

According to Toyota, the unit will be available at dealerships starting September 17 and sell for 1,879,000 baht, or around Rp. 830.5 million.
