Fortnite Dominates One Store Charts After Expansion
The popular battle royale game, Fortnite, quickly climbed to the top spot on the One Store platform after its recent update. This strategic move by Epic Games aims to broaden accessibility and enhance the player experience for gamers in the region.
Successful Launch and New Features
Epic Games announced on the 13th of the month that Fortnite achieved first place in the One Store rankings immediately following its expansion. The update, which went live on June 11, allowed the game to be downloaded from One Store. New gameplay elements were added, including LEGO® Fortnite Brick Life and Fortnite Ballistic.
Players can also enjoy music from renowned Korean artists such as Jungkook, Jimin, Nehae Ben, and Erito through Fortnite Jam Tracks. Furthermore, exclusive in-game items, such as a Son Heung-min-themed costume, are available for purchase.
“It is significant in that the strategy that has expanded the accessibility of domestic players in line with the launch of the Fortnite expansion has been significant.”
—Park Sung-cheol, CEO of Epic Games Korea
Fortnite’s ongoing success is mirrored across the gaming landscape. Globally, the video game industry generated over $184 billion in revenue in 2023 (Statista).
Partnerships and Benefits
The game is also partnering with Nexon PC rooms to offer players free items and other PC room benefits.
