Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has tested positive for the coronavirus, his spokesperson Marina Soroka announced on the social network Facebook on Sunday.

The state of health of the former head of government, aged 59, is worrying. “Unfortunately, this is the truth,” Ms. Soroka wrote. “She has a fever of 39 degrees. Other members of his family are also believed to be infected.
Yulia Tymoshenko has held the post of Prime Minister twice. She rose to fame in 2004 as a figure in the pro-Western Orange Revolution.
She was also jailed twice and ran for the third time in the presidential election in 2019. She was beaten in the first round.
According to official figures, some 105,000 coronavirus infections have been recorded in Ukraine, where it has killed more than 2,270.
