Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States named the condition of Biden’s arrival in Kiev / GORDON

The diplomat predicts the arrival of an American high-ranking delegation to Ukraine with 100% probability.

“Because we are strategic partners, and I hope that in this way they will react – and participate in Crimean platformand participation in events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence, “Chaly said.

In his opinion, the probability of Biden’s arrival at the head of this delegation is very small today.

“The only option – I would very much like this not to happen – if there is an escalation of Russian military actions, then Biden can demonstrate the US position with his presence,” Chaly said.

According to him, Biden’s arrival in Kiev is not facilitated by the questions that have arisen in the NAC Naftogaz of Ukraine.

“On the eve of the arrival of the American delegation, it is impossible to create additional problems out of the blue in the field of corporate governance,” stressed the former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States.

Context:

Biden became the head of the White House January 20, 2021. On April 2, he for the first time since taking office called the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

His administration has consistently supported Ukraine. After the inauguration, Biden has repeatedly expressed his support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including in a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, at the Munich conference and on the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea.

In April, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova said that the Foreign Ministry, the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States and the Office of the President of Ukraine are actively working on organizing a meeting between Biden and Zelensky in the USA and (or) in Ukraine. The ambassador was unable to predict whether Biden would visit Ukraine on August 24, but expressed confidence that the level of US representation would be “high enough.”

May 6 during a joint press conference in Kiev with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken Zelensky invited Biden to visit Ukraine on an official visit. Blinken noted that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Biden does not make international visits, but will visit Ukraine as soon as he can.
