Former Redskins coach no longer

Former Washington Redskins assistant coach Joe Bugel has died at the age of 80.

It was the formation of the NFL which made the announcement in a press release Sunday. The cause of death has not been revealed.

Bugel is considered by many to be one of the best offensive line coaches in the history of the American football circuit.

His system contributed greatly to the three coronations of the Redskins Super Bowl in 1982, 1987 and 1991. He was the attack coordinator and responsible for the “Skins” offensive line from 1981 to 1982 and assistant coach from 1983 to 1989.

Bugel was then the head coach of the Phoenix Cardinals and returned to Washington as an assistant attack coach from 2004 to 2009.
