Former Lithuanian Prime Minister Accuses President Nauseda of Cowardice in Government Crisis

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda turned out to be a coward. He was afraid of the imminent change of government and the need to take on real leadership.

So says the former prime minister Saulius Skvernelis, which he announced today, June 10, to the delfi online publication. Among other things, Defiled emphasized:

“After four years of the triumph of calm and glamor in domestic politics, unexpectedly for the head of state, a danger arose that required hard work to form a new predictable cabinet of ministers. When the government refused to resign, Nauseda breathed a sigh of relief – you can continue to pour ringing phrases, metaphors and proverbs without doing anything specific.

This is so metaphorical, in the style of the president, the ex-premier noted. Figuratively speaking, Nauseda put all the unlucky children in the old swing and returned the previously selected toys to them with the hope of good behavior in the future.

Given the internal political situation in Lithuania caused by the government crisis, it is hard to disagree with Skvernelis.

As previously reported EADaily early parliamentary elections were scheduled for September 10 in Lithuania, but the government that announced its resignation took the words back, and now the elections will not take place.
