This is what Nikola Stoyanov said in the studio of “Hello, Bulgaria”

Although until December it was difficult to find money for salaries, from the end of February suddenly the demand for the production of VMZ-Sopot increased dramatically and at the moment there were orders for two years ahead. Many of the destinations were in Central Europe. Nikola Stoyanov, former chairman of the Board of Directors of the plant, said this in the studio of “Hello, Bulgaria”.

The former heads of VMZ-Sopot: Ukraine emerged as a destination for arms exports during Ninova’s time

“It is scandalous that Mrs. Ninova accuses us that we tried to push through a deal to export arms to Ukraine, and we are just a manufacturer,” Stoyanov said in a comment on the incident with the redirection of a shipment from Afghanistan to Ukraine. This caused a sharp dispute between the outgoing Minister of Economy Kornelia Ninova and the former management of the enterprise.

The international company, with which VMZ-Sopot has a framework contract, requested that the production intended for Afghanistan not be sent, but remain in stock in Bulgaria. Rent was also paid for this purpose. After some time, the company decided to redirect the shipment of weapons in question to Ukraine, about which the Ministry of Economy and Industry was immediately notified by the Ministry of Economy and Industry, Stoyanov assured.

Ninova: Radev’s secretary accused him and his cabinet of arms trade with Ukraine

“After 2014, a recommendation was issued by the International Organization not to export weapons to this region, as there is tension there,” Stoyanov explained, stressing that the recommendation in question is not an explicit ban.
