Filip Kostic said goodbye to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday evening with emotional words: “Thank you Eintracht Frankfurt for believing in me when nobody else did”, wrote the Serbian winger on his Instagram account. His move to Juventus Turin is as good as fixed. On Thursday afternoon, Kostic already completed the medical check at the Serie A club.
The Italian giants shared pictures of the 29-year-old’s arrival in Turin via Twitter on Thursday. Kostic has a contract with Eintracht until June 30, 2023, but wanted to leave the club this summer after three years. He should have been in agreement with Juve for a long time. A transfer fee of between 15 and 20 million euros is under discussion. Kostic was no longer there for the Europa League winner at the UEFA Supercup in Helsinki on Wednesday evening (0:2 against Real Madrid). Last summer, the winger tried unsuccessfully to force his move to Lazio by going on strike.
And Kostic was lucky that he stayed with Eintracht. The attacking winger won the Europa League with the Bundesliga club last season. “I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the club, all the wonderful people who work at the club, the teammates, the coaches, the management, the fans and the whole city for making my stay at the club and in the city unforgettable have,” Kostic continued.
Kostic thanked the fans in particular: “We bled together for the colors of the club, you in the stands and we in the field,” said the upcoming Juve professional. “Thank you for all the love and support you’ve given me. We couldn’t have done it without you. I will carry you in my heart forever.”
