Forest fires caused by heat waves? – Nonsense says Jörg Kachelmann

About 95% of forest fires are assumed to be man-made, as pointed out years ago by the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF), for example. Environmental groups also say how to avoid forest fires. Such fires not only threaten people, but also cost the lives of many animals. Therefore, it is a dangerous mistake that fires occur simply because the climate is changing.

The truth is, people are the most common cause of fires. The IPCC World Climate Report talks about how our current land use practices contribute to the climate crisis. The report also examines how global warming is threatening agriculture, forestry and natural ecosystems. In addition to food security threats, the IPCC report also highlights the growing risk of forest fires due to global warming.
