Foreigners sold many of these stocks in the week despite the JCI strengthening

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) rose 3.80% in the last week or the period 23-27 November 2020. The increase in JCI also spurred action net buy foreigners against a number of big cap companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI).

Quoting RTI data, foreign investors are diligent in collecting two state-owned stocks that are driving the index. Last week’s total net foreign buy reached Rp 413 billion in all markets. However, foreigners also sold off a number of these big cap shares over the past week.

Foreigners recorded the largest net sell in the shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) IDR 505 billion. BBCA’s shares also slumped 3.26% to Rp 31,925 per share. BBCA’s total share trading volume reaches 110.5 million in a week with a transaction value of IDR 3.58 trillion.

Shares of PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) also sold by foreigners in a week for Rp 355 billion. ASII’s shares were also cut 3.06% to Rp 5,550 per share. The total trading volume of ASII’s shares reached 426 million with a value of IDR 2.42 trillion in a week.

Foreigners also sell out shares of PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP) IDR 210 billion. However, ICBP shares rose 4.95% to IDR 10,600 per share in a week. The total trading volume of ICBP’s shares reached 70.3 million with a transaction value of IDR 718 billion a week.
