The new Ford Bronco has been presented for just a month but we are already talking about its future and in particular of the hybrid version. Thanks to a report by TFL Car it is possible to know something more about this variant that will compare, for example, with la Jeep Wrangler 4xe which will soon be brought to its debut. Until now, rumors about this model claimed that it would adopt components from the hybrid powertrain of the F-150 and the Explorer Hybrid. According to the new report, that information was correct.
The future Ford Bronco Hybrid should have a V6 EcoBoost of 3 liters of displacement combined with a 35 kW electric unit. There is no precise information on the maximum power level of this powertrain but according to the source it could reach about 336 kW or over 450 hp. The exchange would be a 10-speed automatic already seen on other Ford models. Obviously, these numbers must be taken with due caution as they are not official.
To see the Ford Bronco Hybrid on the road, however, you will have to wait a long time. According to the report, this model would have been delayed both because of the current world situation and because of the success of the requests for the petrol model. The presentation could take place in the course of 2021 with the commercial launch in 2022. In 2019, the Ford CEO had confirmed the arrival of the hybrid version of the Bronco without, however, providing information on the timing. All that remains is to wait for new information on the development of this project.
