Forced Uighur Muslims Have Abortion, US condemns China

WASHINGTON – Foreign Minister United States of America (AS), Mike Pompeo, mengecam China who carry out sterilization and forced abortion as well as forced use of contraceptives (IUD) to Muslim Uighur. He also called on China to stop the campaign of oppression of Uighur Muslims and other minority women.

“The world received a disturbing report today that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) uses forced sterilization, forced abortion and forced family planning against Uighurs and other minorities in Xinjiang, as part of an ongoing campaign of persecution,” Pompeo said in a statement posted by the US State Department website.

“The surprising disclosures made by German investigators, Adrian Zenz, are unfortunately consistent with the CCP’s decades of practice that show disregard for human life and basic human dignity,” he continued.

“We call on the Chinese Communist Party to immediately end this terrible practice and ask all countries to join the United States in demanding an end to these inhuman violations,” he said as quoted by Sputnik, Tuesday (6/30/2020).

This happened a few hours after the Associated Press, citing a copy of a follow-up investigation by Chinese researcher Adrian Zenz. The report states that the Chinese government has practiced forced birth control to curb Muslim populations in Xinjiang, China.

“The application of such a policy is unprecedented. There is cruelty to it,” the researcher stressed.

“This is part of a broader control campaign to conquer the Uighurs,” he added.

The report noted that despite a decline in national sterilization and IUDs, their use has sharply increased in Xinjiang.

China’s Foreign Ministry condemned the report as “fake news.” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian told the AP that everyone in the country, regardless of whether they are ethnic minority or Han ethnic, must follow and act according to the law.
