The lawyer, as quoted from WION, Saturday (17/4/2021), shared a story about a case he knew because he felt it was strange.
Posting the lawyer further said that the man divorced his wife and registered a new marriage with the same woman on 17 April.
After taking eight days of remarriage leave, the men divorced again on April 28 and remarried on April 29.
It came after the third divorce on May 11 and the fourth marriage to the same woman on May 12.
The bank where the man works suspects marriage leave abuse. In the end, they were only willing to pay leave for the employee’s first marriage.
Unhappy with the act, the man filed a complaint with the Taipei City Labor Bureau, which fined the bank NTD20,000 (over USD 700) for not paying leave from the four marriages.

The bank later appealed the ruling saying that the employee’s leave did not comply with the Labor Standards Act.
The Labor Standards Section Commissioner of the Labor Bureau Huang Jingang agreed that the man’s practice was absurd, but said there was no provision in the Labor Standards Act that a person should not marry the same person for leave.
