At the VivaTech show held in mid-June, the head of Apple’s Health activity took part in a round table on the future of medical care with the boss of Doctolib. Sumbul Desai did not fail to harp on how seriously Apple takes the protection of personal data, but she also mentioned another point that is less often put forward:
As a physician, what matters when providing care is the relationship with the patient. As Doctolib does, we really need to improve this relationship.
One thing we’re working on a lot is figuring out how to educate the doctor about their patient’s life outside of their office. For me, it is extremely important to know how my patients live on a daily basis. It allows me to make better decisions.
So, in addition to empowering patients to track their health and empowering caregivers separately, one of the primary goals is to improve the connection between patient and caregiver.
