For the first time .. you see the real face of Tutankhamun after his reinstallation

This year 2022 marks the centenary of the opening of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, where in 1922 AD the only tomb of the Golden King was discovered, and on this occasion the Golden King had the opportunity to reconstruct his face to show the world what it looked like in his life, in a science project led by Dr. Subtle charm Director of the Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, expert in x-rays of antiquities and mummies

After the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, his mummy was subjected to scientific studies, the most important of which was a CAT scan in 2005 as part of the Royal Mummies Examination Project of the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, established by Egyptologist Dr. Sahar Selim, an expert in mummy x-rays, examined 40 royal mummies, including the mummy of King Tutankhamun.

Advanced X-rays have been able to make many clips that Dr. Sahar installs to obtain two-dimensional and three-dimensional images that provide a lot of information about the mummy, such as age at death, gender, health status, embalming method , and face shape. Dr. Sahar Selim participated in the design of the museum display in the Royal Mummies Hall at Museum Fustat civilization.

On the occasion of the centenary of the archaeological discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, which is the most important in the world, Dr. Sahar Selim led a scientific project to reconstruct the face of the Golden King Tutankhamun’s mummy, using x-ray techniques and computed tomography of the skull of Tutankhamun’s mummy. And Dr. Sahar Selim handpicked members of her science team, made up of Canadian University of Western Ontario anthropologist Dr. Andrew Nelson also hired specialist Canadian sculptor Christian Courbet.

Dr. Sahar Selim explained in exclusive statements to ‘The Seventh Day’ that the three-dimensional model of King Tutankhamun’s skull was printed using artificial intelligence, and then the facial muscles were built on the model using the proportions of the faces. Egyptians, and the result of the scientific project to restore the king’s face was astonishing, as King Tutankhamun, with his noble Egyptian features, was reincarnated into the world after more than 3000 years and wore the royal battle crown.

And Dr. Sahar Selim added that this achievement in reconstructing King Tutankhamun’s face is the most scientifically accurate, as this project was based on constructing the king’s face on measurements of Egyptian faces, unlike previous attempts where he used measurements of the faces of non-Egyptian peoples, and the scientific project to reconstruct the face of King Tutankhamun was documented in a documentary film for the company “Soura”, directed by Egyptian director Hossam Abul-Magd, and broadcast by the channel PBS extension America on November 23rd.
