Lucy Ogilvie discovered she was ill in 2019 and immediately started an experimental treatment, but in 2020 the cancer returned and last month she died leaving behind a husband and two young daughters.

The woman had complained of blood in her stool for years, but her family doctor claimed it was just hemorrhoids because her mother’s young age was unlikely to have developed bowel cancer. This type of cancer usually starts around the age of 50, but it can rarely develop even at a younger age, as is the case with Lucy.
Although the woman showed various symptoms of the disease, she was not prescribed specific tests for a long time, then when she took the tests, the shock diagnosis arrived. Initially she underwent radio and chemotherapy, but they didn’t work, she then tried immunotherapy which gave positive results but only for a few months. The tumor has returned and has left the woman no more escape.
Lucy’s family, desperate for the loss, however, wanted to tell her story, as reported by the Sun, to raise awareness of family doctors and not only on the disease. Although it is rare in young people it is not impossible that early diagnosis occurs and specific tests may be the only possible salvation for the survival of patients.
