He National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur) reported that for section 5 of the Mayan Train, which goes from Cancun to Tulum, the consortium led by BlackRock was the only one that presented a technical proposal for the construction, together with the expansion of the highway in the same section.

In the minutes of presentation of proposals, it was indicated that the group of this company is made up of BlackRock México, Greenfield, Constructora de Infraestructura Nacional, Promotora y Desarrolladora Mexicana de Infraestructura, Promotora y Desarrolladora Mexicana and Prodemex Construcciones.

The specific project involves expansion works on the Cancún-Tulum highway, where the construction of the fifth section of the Maya Trends.

It was indicated that the road currently consists of only two lanes, so it is expected to increase it to six, while in the section of Playa del Carmen-TulumThe railway project will be located in the central part.

He Fonatur had indicated that this project was due to an unsolicited proposal from BlackRock, so at the time of the bidding it obtained a 10 point advantage.
