For repatriation, passengers saturate the Vallarta airport for a few hours

This morning, at the Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco airport, there was a saturation because two airlines opened more flights to repatriate passengers from the United States (US) and Canada, according to the Pacific Airport Group (GAP).

This was only for a few hours, since after noon the place was normalized.

The GAP indicated that it does not know if it was due to the so-called “humanitarian bridge” that the State government carried out in conjunction with the Jalisco Ministry of Health (SSJ) in order to assist 376 travelers who had 25 days at sea on the MS Europa cruise.

For its part, the SSJ indicated that foreigners are not cruise passengers who have recently landed in the seaport.

He reported that the saturation was due to the announcement of the closure of the borders of the United States and more recently of Canada, some tourists, especially Canadians, have decided to rush out of Puerto Vallarta because their governments asked them to return immediately, since They may even invalidate their health insurance if they decide to stay outside their home countries.

“It is important to clarify that so far all confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Jalisco they have been imported and these people were already vacationing in Jalisco, they are not cruise passengers who have recently disembarked in the seaport, “said the institution.

He added that the sanitary filters for international arrivals continue to operate for travelers arriving in Vallarta, both in the air terminal and in the terminals of the Integral Port Administration of Vallarta Port, at docks 1 and 3, and at the Puerto Mágico terminal.

Health surveillance consists of a temperature review through thermal control, in addition to verifying that they do not present symptoms that are indicative of an acute respiratory infection.

In case of fever, he reported, a rapid evaluation is carried out to corroborate that in the last 14 days there has been no contact of COVID-19 with a confirmed case or one under investigation, or if it was in countries where there is community transmission of the virus. .
