After a complaint for the delivery of food prior to a communal consultation to define the destination of the resources, the Comptroller General of the Republic officiated at the Municipality of La Florida.
As reported Radio Bio Bio, the municipality is accused of having delivered chickens to neighbors hours before the vote. This fact was evidenced through a video that shows how a municipal official distributes food in a van and then invites neighbors to participate in the consultation.
Meanwhile, from the local government involved they indicated that “until today they have not received the Office of the Comptroller for this complaint” and warned that “we will not take charge of unfounded complaints, since we have been delivering chickens to affected neighbors for months for the pandemic ”.
Regarding the communal consultation, the mayor of La Florida, Rodolfo Carter, explained that it “was not binding or a plebiscite, but a way of asking the neighbors for their opinion.”
It is also worth mentioning that previously, councilors asked the Comptroller’s Office and the Servel to pronounce on possible illegalities by the mayor of the commune (Carter) for calling these activities just weeks before the constitutional plebiscite and the municipal elections.
